Nashville Isn’t Just Country: Finding the Soul in Music City

The bass and the drums rumble in your chest, the brass horns dazzle your ears, and the organ gets into your soul, even before the singer takes the mic. The B.B. King’s Blues Club All-Star Band makes for an all-star evening among the many lively options on 2nd Street in Nashville. As someone who (wrongly) expected it would be difficulty to get away from the honky-tonk, Music City was a pleasant surprise that has a lot to offer lovers of all styles.

B.B. King’s Blues Club may be “chain” with venues in several other cities throughout the south, but the mix of soul, blues, pop, and classic rock that shines on stage plays homage to the greatness of Nashville, whose heart is all music. Even when the house band isn’t playing, the lineup offers stellar classics for all generations drawing from a soul-enriching mix of everything from blues to modern pop. With a wide selection of beers and house cocktails, plus Tennessee staples like BBQ and fried pickles, you’ve got all the makings for the perfect night of on the town.
